Hi Richard,

Richard Allen told me about this site so I thought I would check it out. They are doing a good job keeping your sperit alive!! You me and your grandson talk everyday and he reminds me so much of you I can't beleave it. Well the other day I was going through some old pictures and found some of you at the races man they were the good old days! We use to work all day and chase women at night :). Horses and women was all we had back then but we had fun. Not much has changed for me still messing with horses, I have a really nice one now that Charles Grimsley sold me last year you would like her, Her name is "My Girl Jules" she just broke her maiden last Saturday. I wish you could have seen it. You are reaaly missed down here you know that right!! These great grandbabies of your are wonderful and remind me of when you always had the boys at your house. At one of Richard Allen she is a spitting image of you and she loves them damn horses just like you!!! Katrina talks about you everytime she sees me and always asks me if I think of you. I tell her yes all the time we had good I mean GREAT times together!! I don't get to see the other ones every often but Robert's little one oh man did he mark her, that baby is him up one side down the other!! They says she has some features of you which that aint a bad thing!! If those kids take after you or at least half of you they will do just fine. Well I hate to run but I have to go work my horse this has really been nice, I won't make it as long next time. Always remember you were and will ALWAYS be mt BEST FRIEND!!! A good friend only comes once in a live time and I already have mine. see you later my friend!!

Hi Pawpaw,

I don't have a lot of memories with because I'm so young but mommy and daddy make sure I don't forget you they say I have your eyes and I love horses just like you. I know that you are watching over me because I see you every night. When daddy is giving me a bath you are there and I say " Hi pawpaw" and daddy always says where is pawpaw and I just smile at him and point to where you are standing most of the time you are right behind daddy looking down at me smiling back!! Then when my bath is done daddy rubs me down with lotion and puts me to bed. Before bed daddy always says a prayer to me and you are standing there and saying the same one, Now I lay me down to sleep. I tell daddy good night and he kisses me on the forehead and says daddy loves you always, then I say daddy I love you and then I say I love you pawpaw and you tell me back and I go right to sleep smiling. Pawpaw I miss you each and every day I wish I could have had more time with you!! You will always live on in me LOVE YOU WITH ALL MY HEART.

Dad,

It has been a little over a year and I am still missing you dearly.  I think of you everyday and wish I could have you back.  So many things are happening in our family the babies are growing up and Chris is getting married (finally).  But all in all everything is good.  I have been dreaming about you every night now for three days and I wonder what it all means.  I am going to go to counseling starting tomorrow to see if I can get my head together.  I have not handled a situation right since you left me so see I still needed you very much.  I love you, DAD!

Fun times with Pa-Paw

After dinner we would go outside for some exercise.  Most time Paw would just chase us around the yard and point out tomorrows work.  I remember this because it was different to me.  It felt like Pa- paw was my dad, teaching me vaues of everyday life.

"Miss you Paw!"

To Pa-Paw

It was 6am, Mom woke me up.  I could hear her shouting: Get up, your working with DAD today!  I recalled thinking, I dont want to work with him today.  What a waste of a weekend.  About 35 minutes later, he pulled up in his 1985 Ford F- 150 dark blue with some light blue patches.  I remember this truck because it was the truck I always wanted.  I remember it had a straight six in it, 5 speed on the floor and it was four wheel drive.  Anyway he honked twice  and I ran out of the house towards the truck for fear that he would leave me.  When we arrived at Miss hayes' property to install some fence posts, the old fashioned way.  First he started to dig the holes with a digging bar while I scooped dirt out with my hands.  Then I stood up to see how deep the hole actually was and paw smacked me in the head with the digging bar and shouted at me: Pay attention, stupid!  To say the least I was very attentive the rest of the day.  Im not quite sure how productive I was that day with a massive knot on my head.  I just marked that down as lesson learned.  It was about lunch time for me but brunch time for him.  So we finishe up the posts and went to the ABC store in Middleburg, There the clerk gave me a sucker.  At that point this wasn't a waste, Lets see I learned not look down at a hole while pa-paw was digging, or at least be weary when doing so.  Paw pa droped me off at my house and said thank you and gave me a quarter, I was a little confused but I figured it out later and thats a story for another time.
"Wish your were here!"
